The specific knockout of PADI4 in mice, which is known to largely prevent NET formation, showed marked disease abrogation in atherosclerosis [103,104], venous thrombosis [105], heparin-induced thrombocytopenia [106], superficial plaque erosion in ACS [107], myocardial IR [75], and ischemic stroke [108].
