Decreased Sirt3 levels have been implicated in the development of neurodegenerative disorders such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and probably Huntington’s disease [72,73,74], while its role in cancer is not clear yet [75,76,77]. The gene discussed is SIRT3; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
