From a clinical point of view, most MIS-C patients show abnormalities in inflammation markers, such as the elevated C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), D-dimer, lactic acid dehydrogenase, and ferritin [22,23,24,25,26,28,29,30,31,32,33]. Here, CRP is linked to COVID-19–associated multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children.
