Our group further investigated the initial timing of pSer46-MARCKS emergence in the brain of a PD/DLB mouse model (normal human α-Syn-BAC-Tg mice [75]) and found that the signal of pSer46-MARCKS in neurons and neurites were increased at 1 month of age before the appearance of pSer129-α-Synuclein-reactive inclusions in neurons at 24 months of age in multiple brain areas, including the olfactory bulb [56], where the α-Synuclein aggregates occur at the earliest timing [76]. Here, MARCKS is linked to Lewy body dementia.
