Chenet al. [11] reported that the addition of Achyranthes bidentata polysaccharides to the feed of weaned piglets enhanced the yield of complement (C3, C4), cytokines (interleukin-2 [IL-2], interferon-γ [IFN-γ]), and immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM) in the animals, thereby facilitating cellular and humoral immunity and affording significant protection against infection through nonspecific defense mechanisms. Here, IL2 is linked to infection.
