This phenotype has also been observed in other malignancies, namely osteosarcoma [52] and ovarian [53,54], lung [55] and gastric cancers [56], in which several effectors of the glycolytic phenotype such as HK2 [54], enolase [56], PKM2 [52], MCT1 [53] and CD147 [57] were overexpressed and correlated with cisplatin resistance, while their genetic or pharmacological inhibition restored chemosensitivity. Here, HK2 is linked to osteosarcoma.
