The availability of paired nontumorous tissue gave us the opportunity to analyze the nontumorous tissue and demonstrate that all patients, regardless of the tumor subtypes, present an immune-high profile in the surrounding nontumorous tissue with a high number of immune cell clusters, containing CD3, CD8, and CD20 positive cells, localized mostly in the periportal space, along with a strong activation of hepatic stellate cells. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
