NF1 and melanoma: BRAF mutant melanoma tended to occur in younger patients with a median age of 54 (p = 0.0001, one-way ANOVA), which may account, in part, for previous reports of improved outcomes in BRAF mutant melanoma, while NF1 mutant tumors were seen in older patients with a median age of 67 (p = 0.005, one-way ANOVA) compared with other driver genes (Figure 1d).
