The technology termed EAGLE (enzyme-antibody glycan-ligand editing) was originally developed by coupling the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-specific antibody to a sialidase from Vibrio cholerae [141] and Salmonella typhimurium [140,142] that selectively removed diverse sialoglycans from breast cancer cells, leading to enhanced immune cell infiltration and activation, as well as prolonged survival, in mouse models.
