The technology termed EAGLE (enzyme-antibody glycan-ligand editing) was originally developed by coupling the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-specific antibody to a sialidase from Vibrio cholerae [141] and Salmonella typhimurium [140,142] that selectively removed diverse sialoglycans from breast cancer cells, leading to enhanced immune cell infiltration and activation, as well as prolonged survival, in mouse models. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast cancer.
