Consequently, the platelet count can be used with other inflammatory markers in scoring indexes for HCC, such as the AST to Platelet Ratio Index (APRI) or Platelet-Albumin-Bilirubin Index (PALBI) [20,21,22], with studies showing worse overall survival in HCC patients with an index representing a more advanced stage [15,23,24].
