In agreement with LPA/LPAR’s roles in chemotherapy resistance, LPAR6 enhances the resistance of hepatocellular cancer cells to sorafenib by switching energy metabolism towards lactic acid fermentation instead of oxidative phosphorylation [143], while blocking LPAR2 activation induces resistance to cisplatin, further highlighting the crucial roles of LPARs in drug resistance [144]. This evidence concerns the gene LPAR6 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
