GOEA analysis of the 549 driver genes (Fig. 4B) revealed several biological processes previously linked to drug resistance in other cancer types, including lysosome biogenesis, Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) homeostasis, and fatty acid metabolism [70–76], as well as specific genes linked to EGFR resistance, such as PDGF-C [77], FGF2 [78, 79], PIK3R2 [80], HRAS [81], MAPK3 [82, 83], GAS6 [84], and BAX [85] (Fig. 4C). This evidence concerns the gene FGF2 and cancer.
