To create the risk score, subsequent multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed, and variables such as older age (>85), male sex, lower BMI (<20), cancer (Yes), dementia (Yes), lower Cr (<6.5), lower albumin (<3.0), normal or high Ca (≥8.5), and higher CRP (>2.0) were found to be significantly and independently associated with early death (Table 5).
