Ijaz et al. (2018) reported that an increase in serum L-thyroxine level, a thyroid hormone, was associated with platelet count. Moreover, thyroid disorders are commonly found in individuals with immune thrombocytopenia (i.e., a deficiency in platelets). The link between CEP128 and thyroid diseases and the connection between the thyroid and platelets may indicate a potential link between the gene and platelets. This evidence concerns the gene TG and thyroid gland disorder.
