In 2021, the World Health Organization presented the fifth edition of the classification of tumors of the central nervous system,1,2 which classifies adult gliomas into 3 types based on isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and 1p19q status: Astrocytoma, IDH mutant (IDH-mut); Oligodendroglioma, IDH-mutant and 1p/19q codeleted; and Glioblastoma, IDH wild type (IDH-wt).
