Some scholars [43] regard negative emotions as an independent risk factor for the occurrence of thyroid cancer and believe that the persistence or recurrence of depression and anxiety is a stress factor for the human body and that stress causes changes in the cerebral cortex and hypothalamus, which can directly or indirectly suppress the immune system and interfere with the endocrine function of the body [44], thus affecting the normal synthesis and release of thyroid hormones and triggering thyroid nodules and increasing the likelihood of thyroid cancer. Here, TG is linked to thyroid gland carcinoma.
