Recent work has demonstrated a significant association between the expression of LAG-3 and the presence of LAG-3-positive cells within tumors, and adverse clinical outcomes, tumor advancement, and unfavorable prognosis across various cancer types such as lymphomas, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) (134).
