PRNP and adenocarcinoma: The expression profile of NR3C1 is highly compatible with a GR-dependent regulation of PRNP gene expression since it is most abundantly expressed in the CMS4 subtype of CRC (Fig. 2G), it globally follows the pattern of PRNP expression along the normal to adenoma to adenocarcinoma sequence in patients (Fig. 2H–J), and NR3C1 and PRNP levels are significantly correlated in various datasets (Fig. 2K–M).
