Thiamine, acting as a coenzyme for α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase and pyruvate dehydrogenase, is a crucial regulator of the TCA cycle.40 In previous studies, thiamine deficiency has been suggested to be associated with many cardiovascular diseases, which may be related to the decline in energy demand.18,30 Here, we found that thiamine intake in cardiomyocytes was impaired in microgravity, along with the down-regulation of thiamine transporter SLC19A2.
