Furthermore, single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of cortical tissues from patients with ASD revealed that excitatory cortical neurons are the main cell types preferentially affected in ASD.[28] In this study, we found that Men1 deletion in excitatory neurons, but not inhibitory neurons, led to mice exhibiting autism‐like behaviors, which aligns with the aforementioned findings in ASD patients. This evidence concerns the gene MEN1 and autism.
