ADCY10 and ischemia: Based on experiments with the sAC inhibitor, KH7, they suggested a link between sAC and apoptosis via protein kinase A-dependent Bax phosphorylation at Thr(167) and its translocation to mitochondria during simulated ischemia, which subsequently caused mitochondrial oxygen radical formation followed by cytochrome c release and caspase-9 cleavage during simulated reperfusion.
