Hu et al. [96] identified that the hypomethylation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFB), placental growth factor (PLGF), phospholipase C beta 1(PLCB1), and fatty acid transport protein 4 (FATP4) was associated with the incidence of diabetes with cardiovascular diseases, prompting that DNA methylation level might be a potential biomarker. The gene discussed is PLCB1; the disease is cardiovascular disorder.
