CRP and septic shock: Among patients with septic shock, serum lactate levels showed moderate diagnostic accuracy for predicting patient intubation (AUC = 0.745, cut-off = 2.95, (0.641, 0.286)); while C-reactive protein and serum lactate exhibited low diagnostic accuracy (i.e., 0.718 and 0.666, respectively) (see Fig. 5c).
