The results of Ki67 immunohistochemical staining of ovarian sections suggested that over 1 week after transplantation, the proportion of proliferating cells was significantly increased in the old-AD-MSC group compared with the old and old-saline groups (23.8% vs. 12.0% and 12.9%, p < 0.05, Fig. 2G, H, Additional file 1: Figure S2), and the proportion of proliferating cells in the ovaries of the mice in the old-UC-MSC group was slightly increased (20.6%), but there was no significant difference compared with the old control group. This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and Alzheimer disease.
