ALDOA, a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate, was reported to promote the glycolysis of cancer cells and may be significantly associated with the development, metastatic potential, and poor prognosis of various kinds of tumors (Du et al., 2014; Long et al., 2014; Shi et al., 2015; Chang et al., 2017). The gene discussed is ALDOA; the disease is cancer.
