In multivariable analysis; BMI ≥25 kg/m2 (OR 4.25, 95% CI 3.29−5.51) (ref: BMI<25 kg/m2), T2DM (OR 2.06, 95% CI 1.47, 2.88), dyslipidaemia (OR 1.68, 95% CI 1.31, 2.16) as well as elevated ALT (≥ 1 × ULN) (OR 1.95, 95% CI 1.39−2.71) were independently associated with the presence of liver steatosis. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
