Here, we focused on the change in expression of the solute carrier (SLC) transporters involved in nutrient uptake in cancer cells [13, 14], and found that the expression levels of SLC7A5 (LAT1; L-type amino acid transporter 1) and SLC3A2 (4F2hc; 4F2 heavy chain) were markedly decreased by the THADA-knockdown (Additional file 1: Fig. S2). The gene discussed is SLC3A2; the disease is cancer.
