Consistent with the results of Rai RC and others, our experimental results showed that the mRNA expression levels of NLRP3, Caspase-1 and Caspase-11 in the livers of T2DM rats were significantly increased compared with the normal group; after taurine treatment, those factors’ mRNA expression levels were significantly decreased [60], indicating that taurine could alleviate the inflammatory response of the liver by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome. This evidence concerns the gene CASP1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
