STAT3 is a member of the STAT transcriptionfactorfamily, whichpromotes tumor progression by regulating the expression of genes relatedto cell proliferation, survival, metastasis, and immune evasion.41 STAT3 is abnormally constitutively activatedin various tumors,42−47 such as pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, and acutemyeloid leukemia, which contributes to the poor prognosis of thesepatients. This evidence concerns the gene SOAT1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
