CD19 and Arthritis: In 2021, a German group published the case of a 20-year-old woman with severe and refractory SLE, having lupus nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, arthritis, pericarditis, pleurisy, and rash, where previous treatments with hydroxychloroquine, high-dose glucocorticoids, cyclophosphamide, mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus, rituximab, and belimumab were unable to control the disease and where anti-CD19 CAR T cell therapy resulted in complete remission (74).
