ITGAE and ischemia: Prior studies have indicated that ischemia–reperfusion injury may trigger E-cadherin release.23,24 Considering that all deceased donor kidneys experience ischemia and NMP may mimic reperfusion effects, it is plausible that the perfused kidneys experienced ischemia–reperfusion injury-like injury, leading to E-cadherin release.25,26 However, the positive correlation between E-cadherin and CD103+ TRLs release requires confirmation in a larger cohort of samples.
