LACTB and infection: ,25–27 Additionally, it has more recently been associated with increased risks of colonization and infection by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae.28 Moreover, in a murine model, ciprofloxacin exposure led to an increase in the abundance of beta-lactamase ARGs.29 We found increases in both the richness and abundance of ARGS for several different antibiotic classes with fluoroquinolone exposure, although fluoroquinolone exposures were relatively infrequent in our cohort and few of these associations were statistically significant.
