Some studies reported that in cutaneous melanomas, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, breast cancer, and lung adenocarcinomas, the overexpression of PLIN2 was strongly associated with adverse outcome [16–19], while in prostate cancer, renal clear cell carcinoma, cervical cancer, and liver cancer, PLIN3 promoted tumor progression [20–24]. The gene discussed is PLIN3; the disease is prostate cancer.
