Intriguingly, testing PSVs at 7q22.1 for association with T2D and chronotype identified a common missense PSV in RASA4 (encoding Ras GTPase-activating protein 4) as the most strongly associated variant for T2D and second strongest for chronotype (P = 1.3 × 10−25 and 2.6 × 10−72, respectively; Supplementary Table 6a; T2D replication P = 2.8 × 10−5 in AoU; Supplementary Table 4b). This evidence concerns the gene RASA4 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
