TG and Timothy syndrome: Standard first-line pharmacotherapy in TS aims to block production and release of thyroid hormones with propylthiouracil or methimazole, inhibit release of preformed thyroid hormones with iodine, decrease peripheral conversion of T4 to T3 with propylthiouracil and steroids, and treat adrenergic symptoms with beta-blockade, prior to definitive treatment in the form of surgery or radioactive iodine ablation.8
