Since NSCLC is highly glycolytic, to test this hypothesis, we first examine the relationship of CD38 with the expression of genes related to glycolysis such as glucose transporter 1 (Glut1), Hexokinase 2 (HK2) and pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase‐1 (PDK‐1) by analyzing gene expression data from GEPIA2 (http://gepia2.cancer‐pku.cn/#index) database. The gene discussed is PDK1; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
