GS-9620, a TLR7 agonist, reduces serum WHV DNA, hepatic replicative intermediates, and WHV cccDNA in woodchucks. It also eliminates serum WHsAg and may decrease the incidence of HCC. Its antiviral effectiveness was confirmed in an HBV-infected chimpanzee model. This evidence concerns the gene TLR7 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
