Moreover, hyperglycemia and hypertension can cause damage to choroidal capillaries, resulting in foveal edema and ultimately changes in CMT.19,20 The present study showed that CMT was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure, course of diabetes, HbA1c level and urinary albumin level indicating that CMT increases with the increase in systolic blood pressure, course of diabetes, HbA1c level and urinary albumin level.
