In a rat PF model, intraperitoneal injection of PPARgamma agonists (rosiglitazone, 15d-PGJ2) elevated the downregulated expression of PPARgamma and GLUT1 mRNA levels in the PM, decreased blood levels of glucose, creatinine and urea nitrogen, and alleviated PF by reducing the thickness of the submesothelial layer and the collagen fiber content. This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A1 and pemphigus foliaceus.
