Previous studies have shown that the therapeutic effect of CA on neurodegenerative diseases may be related to several mechanisms: (1) anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects—CA prevented LPS-induced systemic-inflammation-induced memory impairment via inhibition of NF-κB [9] and (2) neuronal protective effects—CA improved neuron mitochondrial function and energy metabolism [31]. Here, NFKB1 is linked to memory impairment.
