In mice with obesity induced by a high-fat diet and OVA-induced asthma, liraglutide ameliorated airway eosinophilic inflammation and hyperresponsiveness to methacholine, as well as decreased expression of proinflammatory cytokines IL-4, IL-5, and IL-33, and suppressed activity of NLRP3 inflammasome, caspase-1, and IL-1β in lung tissue. The gene discussed is IL4; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
