For IL-1β, this action of RSV was statistically significant; however, it was much stronger at normal glucose concentrations, where a major reduction in this cytokine was observed (the decrease in the IL-1β level was estimated to be 10 times), compared to hypoglycemia- or hyperglycemia-mimicking conditions, where the IL-1β concentration was 2 to 3 times lower after RSV administration. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and Hyperglycemia.
