The analysis confirmed that only blunt trauma (OR = 1.85, p = 0.034), ISS (OR = 1.02, p < 0.001), leucocytes (OR = 1.04, p < 0.001) and CRP at admission (OR = 1.00, p = 0.048) were found to be independent risk factors for sepsis in the age group < 65 years, whereas GCS at site (OR = 1.11, p = 0.006) and CRP at admission (OR = 1.01, p < 0.001) were found to be independent risk factors for sepsis in the age group ≥ 65 years, as presented in Table 4.
