GPX4 and allergic disease: Table 3 summarizes the top most important variants identified by each model. Many of these variants are located near or within genes with known links to asthma and allergic disease phenotypes. These genes include those associated with corticosteroid responses in asthma (TPSAB1, FBXL16), asthma symptoms and severity (ABCA7, CNN2, PTRN3, and BSG/CD147), airway remodeling (ELANE, FSTL3), mucin production (GAL3ST), lipid peroxidation and pro-inflammatory leukotriene levels (GPX4), allergic asthma (ZFPM1, SBNO2), and others.
