Specifically for GRP94, at the plasma membrane (where Glyc62GRP94 is located), Glyc62GRP94 may promote cancer as, by forming epichaperome platforms [134,146,148], it provides a backbone upon which oncogenic proteins and protein assemblies cluster, augmenting their pathologic function and leading to an aggressive phenotype in Glyc62GRP94-expressing cancer cells (Figure 3B). The gene discussed is HSP90B1; the disease is cancer.
