In this context, recent studies have shown that some single nucleotide polymorphisms of the CYP7A1 gene (rs3808607 G/T, rs9297994 G/A, rs10504255 A/G, rs8192870 G/T, rs2081687 C/T, rs1457043 C/T, and rs10107182 C/T) are associated with cardiovascular events such as coronary artery disease, T2DM, myocardial infarction, and hypercholesterolemia [5,9,10,11,12,13,14]. Here, CYP7A1 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
