Our results showed that rats in the ORX + HFHF diet group had the highest degree of hepatic steatosis, lobular inflammation, hepatocyte ballooning, and percentage of positive Oil Red O staining area, including SREBP1c and FAS gene expression as compared to those of control, ORX + standard diet, and HFHF rats. The gene discussed is SREBF1; the disease is steatosis.
