Similar to previous reports showing that overexpression of PLCG2 occurs in gastric cancer, lymphoma, and hepatocytes [37,38,39,40] and that increased phosphorylation of p38 and JNK leads to apoptosis [40], our data here demonstrated overexpression of PLCG2 and marked enhancement of caspase-3, -7, and -8 expression in OSCC cells treated with circRNA-1269a, thus confirming that PLCG2 may enhance apoptosis in OSCCs. The gene discussed is MAPK8; the disease is gastric cancer.
