In general, BRAF gene mutations occur more frequently in sporadic papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs) such as aggressive microcarcinomas and tall-cell variant cancers in adult patients [50,51], followed by poorly differentiated carcinomas and PTC-derived anaplastic thyroid carcinomas (ATCs) [52,53,54,55]. The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is thyroid gland undifferentiated (anaplastic) carcinoma.
