One of the major EMT biological processes that was extensively studied in this study is the switch from E-cadherin to N-cadherin, which initiates several processes, including mediating cell adhesion weakness by degrading intracellular contacts and cell-to-cell adhesions, degrades intracellular connections, promotes cancer cells to detach from their primary environment, and enables them to invade the adjacent lymphatic system and adjacent tissue. The gene discussed is CDH2; the disease is cancer.
